چکیده
This study investigated the effect of heat history on the eorrosion of keepers used for dental magnetic attachments. Ferritic stainless steels of SUS 444 and 447Jl were prepared with heat treatments in the temperature range of 550-850°C for 1-5 hours. The stainless steels were electrochemically and metallurgically examined by anodic polarization curves in a O.9% NaCl solution and by microstructural observation using an electron probe microanalyzer with WDS. Heating both kinds of

A study on the changes in attractive force of magnetic attachments for overdenture.
PURPOSE Although magnetic attachment is used frequently for overdenture, it is reported that attractive force can be decreased by abrasion and corrosion. The purpose of this study was to establish the clinical basis about considerations and long term prognosis of overdenture using magnetic attachments by investigating the change in attractive force of magnetic attachment applied to the patients...
متن کاملInvestigation of connective tissue attachments to the cervical spinal dura mater.
The connective tissue attachments to the cervical spinal dura mater originating from the ligamentum nuchae (LN) and rectus capitis posterior minor (RCPM) muscle were evaluated in 30 cadaveric spines. Magnetic resonance images (MRIs) were correlated with the attachments in four cadaveric specimens. Attachments from the LN to the RCPM were also identified. The LN and the RCPM to dura attachments ...
متن کاملEvaluation of stable retentive properties of overdenture attachments.
OBJECTIVES To evaluate fatigue of stud (ERA Overdenture (orange and white), Locator Root (pink) and OP anchor # 4) and magnetic (Magfit EX600W) attachments by measuring maximum retentive force. To compare retentive force of overdenture attachments after their reach stable retention. To determine minimum number of cycles required to reach stable retention. MATERIAL AND METHODS Three specimens ...
متن کاملEffects of Mucosal Thickness on the Stress Distribution and Denture Stability of Mandibular Implant-Supported Overdentures with Unsplinted Attachments In Vitro
The aim of this study was to compare the effects of mucosal thickness on the stress pattern around implants and movement of implant-supported overdentures with ball/female and three different types of magnetic attachments. After insertion of two root-form implants into a mandibular model, the surface of the model was covered with a 1.5- or 3-mm layer of impression material to simulate the oral ...
متن کاملMagnet-retained implant-supported overdentures: review and 1-year clinical report.
Open-field aluminum-nickle-cobalt magnets have been used in prosthodontics for many years, but success has been limited because these magnets are susceptible to corrosion by the saliva and because their retentive force is weak relative to the initial retention offered by mechanical attachments. More recently, magnets have been made from alloys of the rare earth elements samarium and neodymium, ...
